Taxies in Gaza strip do not have any fare calculations system which resulted in raising several problems in the transportation section. To permanently solve these problems we came up with the idea of a taximeter customized according to Gaza strip needs. Our taximeter is a microcontroller-based electronic device which can be easily integrated with the taxies in Gaza. The proposed taximeter can handle up to four passengers simultaneously. The fare calculations depend on the traveled distance and elapsed time which could guarantee the fairness towards both drivers and passengers. We also provided PC software that is going to be used by the Official Tariff Organization in case of any changes to the fare calculations variables. The proposed taximeter was tested on a car and gave satisfying results. We strongly recommend the Ministry of Transportation to apply the proposed taximeter on the transportation section in Gaza strip because we think it is going to be a great solution for the rising problems.
